What is Reply Tagger and how does it work?
Reply Tagger is a browser extension for Chrome that acts like a personal CRM for Twitter. It helps you track conversations, tag users, assign folders, write private notes, and manage lightweight tasks — all directly from a popup while browsing Twitter profiles.
Everything runs locally in your browser using IndexedDB, ensuring your data is private and stays on your machine.
Do I need a Twitter API key to use Reply Tagger?
No! One of Reply Tagger’s biggest advantages is that it doesn’t use Twitter’s API at all. It runs entirely in your browser and reads only the public profile handle from the page you're visiting.
That means no API restrictions, no rate limits, and no worries about Twitter API changes breaking your workflow.
Is my data secure? What about privacy?
Yes. All your notes, tags, folders, and tasks are stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. No data is ever transmitted to an external server unless you explicitly export it.
We don’t collect, store, or share any of your information. This extension is fully privacy-first.
Can I use Reply Tagger offline?
Absolutely. Since Reply Tagger stores data locally and doesn’t rely on internet connectivity or external APIs, you can use it completely offline once it's installed.
You’ll only need internet access for downloading updates or if you plan to sync backups manually.
How do I install the extension?
You can install it by loading the unpacked extension into Chrome via chrome://extensions. Click "Load unpacked" and select the Reply Tagger folder. We'll be releasing it soon on the Chrome Web Store for even easier installation.
What features does Reply Tagger offer?
Tags for organizing people, folders for grouping contacts, private notes to jog your memory, task tracking with due dates, CSV export for data analysis, and full offline support. It’s the CRM-lite Twitter users have always wanted.
What is the difference between tags and folders?
Tags are used for labeling people by attributes like “VC”, “Founder”, or “Newsletter Subscriber”. A user can have multiple tags.
Folders are a higher-level grouping, such as “Leads”, “Customers”, or “Follow-ups”. A user belongs to only one folder at a time. Think of folders as categories and tags as traits.
Can I export my data?
Yes! You can export everything — Twitter handles, tags, notes, folders, and tasks — into a clean CSV file. This is perfect for analysis or backup.
No login or cloud required.
Will it work on LinkedIn, Mastodon, or Bluesky?
Not yet — Reply Tagger is built for Twitter first. But once it's stable and popular, we plan to expand to other platforms using the same local-first philosophy.

Is there a Pro version?
Yes. The free version includes 1 folder, 5 tags, 1 reminder, and limited task history. The Pro version unlocks unlimited folders, tags, and full task management — for less than the price of a coffee per month.
